Position Overview
This is a non-exempt, full-time position that provides counseling and support to individuals struggling with primary substance abuse disorder and dual diagnosis. The counselor will work with patients throughout their treatment journey, from intake to discharge, and will collaborate with the treatment team to ensure a comprehensive recovery plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete intake, admission, discharge, and transfer paperwork
- Document patient progress through counseling and group interactions
- Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions
- Educate patients on all aspects of treatment, related health issues, and steps to recovery
- Assist in monitoring patient activities on center premises
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Master's degree in Social Work or related field
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification
- Experience in substance abuse counseling or a related field
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
