Job Summary:
The Cardiac Sonographer 2 performs advanced cardiac ultrasound services and procedures for adult patients, utilizing various equipment and techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiograms.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patients for procedures and obtains clinical history from the patient, including cardiac related physical findings and pertinent laboratory data.
- Performs basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, making necessary measurements required for accurate interpretation.
- Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities, extending the scope of the examination as necessary.
- Assists physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms with echocardiograph studies.
Key Success Factors:
- Knowledge of complex sonographic principles, instrumentation, and techniques.
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to explain the purpose of the echocardiographic examination to patients and answer their questions.
- Knowledge of approved clinical protocols for cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.
- Knowledge of proper infection control and patient confidentiality laws.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
- Less than 1 Year of Experience.
- Certification/License/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
