Job Title: Registered Dietitian – Bariatric Care Center
Job Summary: The Registered Dietitian (RD) will provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to patients enrolled in the Non-Surgical and Surgical Weight Management Programs, as well as other patients at the Bariatric Care Center. This role involves providing discharge teaching for post-op diet protocols, conducting classes in each program, managing phone calls from patients with nutrition-related questions, and collaborating with the treatment team. The RD will also review nutritional lab results and implement standing orders for vitamin replacement.
Shift Details:
- Shift: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
- Start Date: February 17, 2025
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Pay: $47/hr - $50/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients in the Non-Surgical and Surgical Weight Management Programs.
- Provide nutrition education and discharge teaching regarding post-op diet protocols for all surgical patients.
- Conduct nutrition-related classes for program participants.
- Manage all patient phone calls related to nutrition inquiries.
- Review nutritional lab results and implement vitamin replacement as necessary.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, psychologists, nurses, and other members of the weight management team to optimize patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow-up for all patient interactions and treatments.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a closely related field.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) and licensed dietitian.
- 2 years of related experience in non-surgical and surgical weight management (preferred).
- Certification as a Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (preferred).
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to operate a computer and utilize healthcare software.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and patients.
- Ability to educate and motivate patients in dietary changes for weight management.
- Knowledge of nutritional lab results and ability to implement appropriate interventions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office and clinical setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
