Job Details:
Position: RN - Med Surg
Location: Macomb, IL
Duration: 16 weeks
Shift:12hrs Nights - (07:00pm - 7:30am)
Schedule: Every other or every third weekend.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant nursing experience, ideally in a rural hospital setting.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring is essential.
- Active license in IL state.
- COVID Vaccinated.
- BLS / CPR Preferred.
- PALS required.
Duties:
- Assess and monitor patient conditions, including vital signs and medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and preferences.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including injections and IV therapy.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and post-discharge care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (eClinicalWorks).
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations and medical imaging procedures as needed.
- Support pediatric patients with specialized care requirements, including infant care.
- Participate in behavioral health assessments when necessary to ensure comprehensive patient support.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles and practices in a medical/surgical setting.
- Experience in travel nursing is a plus, providing adaptability to various healthcare environments.
- Proficient in using healthcare systems, particularly eClinicalWorks for documentation purposes.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and their application in patient care.
- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients, demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Experience administering injections safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of ophthalmology practices is beneficial for comprehensive patient assessments.
- Competence in conducting diagnostic evaluations to support treatment planning.
