CADD Workspace Architect (Autodesk AEC & Inventor) – SCDOT

About the Role
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking a CADD Workspace Architect (Software Consultant) with expertise in Autodesk AEC Collection & Inventor to support the development and implementation of a CADD workspace for transportation projects across South Carolina.
This role involves workspace development, technical support, training, troubleshooting, and coordination with IT and external vendors to ensure compliance with AASHTO and SCDOT standards.
Key Responsibilities Workspace Development & Maintenance
- Develop and configure CADD workspace standards, templates, and libraries for Autodesk AEC Collection & Inventor.
- Maintain and update CADD standards to align with AASHTO and SCDOT guidelines.
- Assist with the documentation of workspace development to ensure long-term project success.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to internal teams and industry peers.
Technical Support & Training
- Provide one-on-one and small-group training for CADD users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
- Assist with the implementation of new software and features in CADD workspaces.
Coordination with IT & Vendors
- Work with IT teams to install, configure, and manage CADD software licenses.
- Collaborate with software vendors for updates, technical support, and best practices.
Project Support & Documentation
- Assist project teams in setting up and managing CADD environments.
- Ensure that project deliverables meet SCDOT standards and client requirements.
- Produce training documentation and videos for plan production workflows.
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all CADD-related inquiries.
- Facilitate communication between design teams, project managers, and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
Proficiency in Autodesk AEC Collection & Inventor
CADD workspace development & maintenance
CADD workspace implementation
Expertise in plan production & plotting
3D digital design & modeling expertise
Experience in transportation projects
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
Familiarity with SCDOT standards & procedures
Experience in civil roadway, drainage, or structural design
Project management skills
Proficiency with ESRI software & Bentley software
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Public sector/government experience required (SCDOT preferred)
