Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operators – Chemical Plant Construction
Location: Liberty, Texas
Project: Construction of a 660-acre Solar and Chemical Plant
Position Overview
We are hiring skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to support the construction of a solar and chemical plant in Liberty, Texas. Operators will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various heavy machinery to perform earthmoving, grading, and site preparation tasks. Experience in handling equipment on unstable, fat clay soil is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Operation
- Operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to:
- Dozers: SD-22, SD-16D
- Motor Grader: PY-185A
- Roller: SXS223J
- Bucket Loader: CLG850H
- Excavator: Caterpillar D330
- Perform tasks such as grading, leveling, compacting, excavating, and material loading.
- Execute operations according to project plans and specifications.
2. Site Preparation
- Assist with site clearing, soil excavation, and stabilization in areas with unstable fat clay.
- Work closely with engineers and supervisors to implement soil remediation strategies.
- Ensure proper compaction and foundation preparation for structures.
3. Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while operating machinery.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safe operation.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or hazards immediately.
4. Equipment Maintenance
- Perform basic maintenance, including fueling, lubrication, and cleaning.
- Collaborate with mechanics for regular servicing and repairs.
5. Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with other construction personnel, including laborers, supervisors, and engineers.
- Communicate effectively to ensure alignment with project timelines and objectives.
6. Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and performance.
- Document work progress and report to the site supervisor.
Qualifications1. Education and Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid heavy equipment operator certification or license.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
2. Experience
- 3 years of experience operating heavy machinery on construction sites.
- Demonstrated ability to work on challenging soil conditions, such as fat clay.
- Familiarity with operating each piece of equipment listed in the project.
3. Skills
- Proficient in reading site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics and compaction techniques.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
4. Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capacity to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
