Job Description
Looking for a Senior Oracle Exadata DBA with SAP Basis Administrations who would entail managing and maintaining both Oracle Exadata databases and SAP systems, requiring expertise in database administration tasks on the Exadata platform alongside the configuration and management of SAP environments, including user access, system patching, and overall system health monitoring; essentially combining the technical skills of an Oracle Exadata DBA with the SAP Basis administration knowledge to support integrated SAP applications running on the Exadata infrastructure.
Key Notes from Client:
Ensure the SAP environment is properly configured for optimal performance on ExaCC.
Advise us on the optimal architecture for SAP as it relates to ExaCC.
Advise us on how to ensure the SAP system performs as expected.
Advise us on the best documentation (from Oracle and SAP) to use to support our efforts.
Some specifics the customer mentioned include:
Advise us on the process of converting the setup to RAC and identify the best practices for implementation
Help determine the appropriate migration method that aligns with SAP requirements
Evaluate the use of multi-tenant architecture, considering the SAP documentation states it may not be allowed
The customer is concerned with correctly setting up the architecture of the environment, not the migration process itself.
Key responsibilities may include:
Oracle Exadata DBA aspects:
Installing, configuring, and patching Oracle Exadata databases
Performance tuning and optimization of Exadata workloads
Monitoring database health, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
Backup and recovery strategies for Exadata databases using RMAN
Capacity planning and storage management on the Exadata platform
Security administration and user management on the Exadata database
Troubleshooting database issues and providing technical support
SAP Basis Administrator aspects:
Managing SAP system landscapes (development, quality, production)
Installing, upgrading, and patching SAP applications
User administration and role management within SAP systems
Monitoring SAP system performance and troubleshooting issues
Configuring SAP system parameters and profiles
Managing SAP transport requests and system landscape synchronization
Implementing and maintaining SAP security measures
Required skills and experience:
Strong proficiency in Oracle Database Administration, particularly on Exadata platforms
