Job Description:
Position Summary: This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, rules, and policies while supporting financial operations and decision-making processes across assigned administrative units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze budgets, financial statements, and accounting records to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations.
- Evaluate and apply budget policies and procedures across DERS programs.
- Review and interpret new or proposed legislation to determine fiscal and organizational impacts.
- Conduct complex financial research and analysis; develop findings and provide actionable recommendations.
- Ensure quality standards are met through continuous process improvements.
- Prepare presentation materials and communicate findings with Federal and State partners.
- Assist with funding and audit processes, including documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Some college education required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a financial, accounting, or auditing role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation development.
- Ability to understand and apply federal and state legislation and fiscal policies.
- Ability to work professionally with diverse groups and communicate financial data clearly.
Additional Information:
- Travel: Occasional on-site visits required.
