Position Overview:
We are looking for a Designer professional with CATIA V5 experience to support packaging and layout studies in the automotive industry. This role involves developing 2D drawings and 3D models, reviewing class ‘A’ surfaces, and ensuring manufacturing tool requirements meet industry standards.
As an Automotive Designer, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting packaging/layout studies and developing updatable parametric CATIA V5 2D Drawings & 3D models.
- Reviewing class ‘A’ surfaces and identifying data quality concerns.
- Developing B-side surfaces for plastic parts and surface modeling for sheet metal components while meeting TEMA standards.
- Performing blend filleting and passing Level E certification.
- Creating PowerCopies to automate common feature creation.
- Preparing and negotiating engineer/designer communication and tracking project status.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Automotive Design experience in any of the following:
- Body Shell, Interior Trim, Seats, Functional Parts, Electrical/Wire Harness
- Parametric CAD modeling experience
- 6000 hours of experience using CATIA V5, including: Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Assembly Design, and Drafting workbenches
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in English
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
