Health Care Professional

Position Overview

In this role, you will provide essential support to students ages 3-5 who are deaf, blind, or visually impaired. Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and assisting students with equipment use, hygiene, feeding, and toileting.
• Observing and maintaining student files in compliance with Federal, State, and Agency policies.
• Transporting students to activities and appointments as necessary.
• Continuing professional growth through training sessions and workshops.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with children, preferably in education, healthcare, or related fields.
• Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work independently.
• Proficiency with augmentative communication and assistive technology (AT) equipment.
• Physical ability to reach, stoop, bend, lift, and operate office equipment.
• Must pass an FBI and State background check.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• American Sign Language (ASL) skills are strongly preferred for working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Braille skills are preferred for working with students who are blind or visually impaired.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma and familiarity with behavior management techniques and relevant computer software.
• CPR/First Aid certifications (current or ability to obtain).

Preferred Education:

• Associate’s Degree or completion of 60 college units.
• Valid Paraprofessional certification or Certified Health Assistant credentials.
• Crisis Intervention Training certification (or willingness to obtain).

Additional Details:

Schedule: Monday through Thursday.

Population Served: Deaf and/or blind students ages 3-5.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
