AI Developer
Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid Preferred)
Duration: 2 Months Contract ( Potential to convert)
Project Details
- Short-term: Help needed for AI prototyping contract basis.
- Long-term: Will evolve into a more permanent role to support broader AI development.
Technical Needs
- Hands-on technical contributor for prototyping AI solutions.
- Focus on generative AI development using in-house tools.
- Aim is to make internal processes more automated and intelligent.
AI Initiatives at the Client:
- Introducing AI pilots such as:
- Chat AI
- Intelligent search
- Goal: Go beyond basic AI search to deliver specific information to students (e.g., payment details, GPA, transcripts).
- Heavy emphasis on API integration and development.
Use Cases / Examples
- Agentic AI systems:
- Understand the problem.
- Proactively offer solutions (e.g., scheduling, calendar suggestions).
- Crawl internal and external data to provide insights based on context and history.
- Student Payment Use Case:
- Today: Students visit offices when they miss payments.
- Future: Gen AI notifies students about missed payments and directs them to action.
Scope
- The scope is defined now entering the development phase.
- This role will support Saroj in building the prototype.

AI/ML
Be flexible, The client is doing this for the first time
Good attitude
1-2 agents in the beginning for one specific problem
5-7 years of experience
More of an Software Engineer background
Must haves:
APIs
Google Cloud Platform (open to others)
AI Dev agents, done implementation/prototypes, LLMs, RAG, work flows (will see how they approach this section)
Python, OOP
API & Backend dev have legacy systems need to understand various systems, and designing bigger systems would be helpful
Understand the data science side
Nice to haves:
Deployment cloud understanding how it work for troubleshooting
Frontend react, next, graphql will need later for UI part, not during prototyping
Databases: Firestore, PostgreSQL, BigQuery
