Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled GIS Technician to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Utilize ArcGIS software to create, edit, and maintain geospatial data layers.
- Conduct data modeling and analysis to support project objectives.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather requirements and develop GIS solutions.
- Perform land surveying tasks and GPS data collection to ensure accuracy in mapping.
- Create detailed maps and visualizations that effectively communicate spatial information.
- Manage and organize data within SharePoint for easy access by team members.
- Provide leadership in GIS best practices and assist in training junior staff.
- Analyze spatial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform decision-making.
- Utilize CAD software for drafting and design purposes as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in SQL for database management and querying.
- Strong experience with ArcGIS software suite.
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques relevant to GIS applications.
- Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Experience with GPS technology and land surveying methods.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Strong leadership abilities, capable of guiding team members effectively.
- Experience with data visualization tools to present findings clearly.
- Familiarity with SharePoint for document management is desirable.
- A degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
