Job Description
Under broad supervision, the Junior QA Consultant will be responsible for QA planning, tracking, and reporting for project(s). They will execute test lifecycle deliverables per standard methodologies and procedures, ensuring successful implementation of the Test Strategy/Plan for the Client.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Test custom applications and GIS components.
- Actively engage with various teams.
- Create and document test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Execute tests, analyze results, and report issues from an end-user perspective.
- Operate within an Agile environment to support testing needs.
- Ensure test cases are properly formulated, following QA standards to guarantee accurate metrics.
- Collaborate with business partners, PMO, and Vendor technical delivery teams to understand business requirements.
- Ensure timely software testing and notify management about bottlenecks, issues, and risks.
- Assist business subject matter experts and analysts in developing UAT test scenarios.
- Participate in defect triage meetings and demos.
- Report weekly status to the Quality Assurance Testing Lead.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
General Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in software testing for development projects.
- Experience in mid to large-scale system development projects, including test automation, test strategy, and test script execution.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in reviewing and analyzing system specifications (e.g., System Requirements, Business Requirements, Design Documents).
- Capable of performing manual and/or automated testing using supported tools.
- Ability to identify missing test cases and modify existing ones for comprehensive test coverage.
- Experience in documenting Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM) and confirming applications are UAT-ready.
- Skilled in documenting test cases and test results.
- Ability to prepare sample data for testing.
- Proficiency in system testing, parallel/comparative testing, QA testing, performance/load testing, regression testing, security testing, business continuity/disaster recovery testing, and post-go-live validation.
- Experience in mobile device testing is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and issue isolation skills.
- Able to work with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Experience with tools such as GitHub, ServiceNow, TFS, and JIRA.
Specialized Experience
- Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) concepts and best practices.
- Experience running tests for application functions.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency with defect management tools (TFS/JIRA).
- Experience with public sector projects is preferred.

- International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
- Certified Test Engineer (CSTE)
- Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST)
