What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Tester position at InfoPeople?
SCOPE OF SERVICES : The QA Test Lead will manage processes and personnel to conduct quality assurance of the Pension Administration system which includes 32 separate functional work streams with complex and diverse use cases and scenarios. The QA Test Lead will need to support the testing of all the data bridging scenarios that will be adopted in the course of the transition from legacy system to new pension administration system. The QA Test Lead will also need to support the testing on legacy system as functionality is being retired and decommissioned. In addition to working with client testers, the Test Lead will be working with SI and QA vendor closely for all phases of testing from requirements review, test script development, test execution, test result analysis and defect tracking. The Test Lead will need to adapt to new disciplines and frameworks that will be implemented in partnership with the QA vendor. Duties will include :
- Identify the scope of the testing required for a particular release based on the requirements of the document.
- Identify the testing effort required by calculating the sizing needed for the given release and plan the required effort for the same.
- Identify if Automation, Performance, Load, API, cross browser testing is required and manage the effort.
- During the Testing Cycle, monitor the test progress by constantly assessing the work assigned to each of the resources and re-balance or re-allocate them as required
- Check if there might be any delays in achieving the schedule and hold discussions with testers to figure out the issues that they may be facing and strive hard to resolve them.
- Present the timely status to the stakeholders & management and instill confidence about the work being done.
- Prepare software defect tracking and report status to stakeholders.
- Prepare any Risk Mitigation plans, if in case any delays are foreseen.
- Bridge any gaps and differences between the Testing team and the Management in order to form a clean two-way interface channel.
- Plan knowledge transfer sessions if required, to the team members for the tools that they would use.
- Figure out what skills are required and balance the test resources accordingly. Also, identify if there are any skill gaps and plan for training & education sessions for the identified test resources.
- Ensure that QA Process and Procedures are followed. Participate and prepare continuous improvement plan
- Create fun and conducive environment for all the resources to make sure they have maximum throughput.
