We run around 800 events each year in over 60 countries, create digital platforms based on engaging news and information content, and operate professional development programs for individuals and businesses in Foodservice and Hospitality, Sustainability, Marketing, Global Finance, Life Sciences, and in a number of other specialist markets.
As the Data & Analytics Business Analyst you will support our Foodservice portfolio. Acting as a conduit between IT and Marketing centrally, the Analyst will be highly collaborative and passionate about business architecture and have an expert-level understanding of how data and marketing operations inform sound decisions.
You should be project-focused to your core, with a goal of leading cross-portfolio transparency. The Data & Analytics Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the marketing data infrastructure of our group within the wider organization, partnering to plan future data and operational needs, and implementing solutions to optimize and manage our groupwide tech stack. Job Description
As the Data & Analytics Business Analys you will be a critical supporting role for the Data Insights team within the Foodservice Group of Informa Connect, responsible for interpreting and contextualizing data providing valuable insights to drive business growth, while understanding business need, and implementing data-driven solutions (analysis, visualization and automation).
Customer-focused to your core, you will help visualize the data to map out Connect’s capability and technology based on user persona, bridging the gap between strategy and execution, streamlining and rationalizing the IT enablement process, optimizing the customer experience from the inside out. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized and data-driven, comfortable analyzing and interpreting results from datasets and building reports / dashboards in Power BI.
This position reports directly to the Director of Data & Digital Insights requires extensive collaboration with sales, brand and marketing directors as well as senior management across divisions. You will play a key part in synthesizing and creating synergies for the work of others, drawing from disciplines like business analysis, process management and operations to define the database and automation strategy across Informa Connect’s Foodservice portfolio brands.
Primary responsibilities:
- Marketing Automation & Dashboard Implementation:
- Work closely with both central marketing and directly with the Director of Data & Digital Insights, to ensure all optimal and new innovative practices are aligned and shared across the group.
- Develop, monitor and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our marketing automation & CRM systems (Eloqua, Marketo, Salesforce, et al) on behalf of the Foodservice portfolio in line with Connect’s wider marketing tech strategy.
- Your overarching goal will be to streamline marketing efforts, optimize and improve marketing operation workflows to measure effectiveness, performance, and ROI using various Business Intelligence tools.
- The day to day will revolve around building Power BI dashboards to analyze data which monitors everything from event pacing, revenue, marketing campaign performance, database health, and audience demographics to uncover areas for improvement, and further innovate reporting data-driven business decisions and AI initiatives.
- Business Process Operations
- Work cross-functionally to assist in weekly and monthly reporting meetings, ensuring operational excellence while you serve as a central conduit across business functions.
- Partner with the central teams to ensure governance and alignment across systems and processes.
- Database Operations:
- Assist the wider team in data integration projects between disparate Salesforce CRM instances and marketing-related platforms (marketing automation, reporting and data analytics applications).
- Work closely with the Data & Insights team to provide reporting to respective brand teams and senior management against agreed performance measures, and develop insights on future strategies
- Assist the growth marketing manager with audience segmentation.
- Assist with extracting and reporting on media analytics.
- Assist with event tracking, registration maintenance and process testing.
- Bachelors degree required.3 years’ experience in data analysis and / or business architecture operations with a preference for degrees in quantitative analysis.
- Prior experience in data reporting, marketing, or financial forecasts a plus.
- A "can-do" attitude, with a desire to extend existing skills and be a problem solver
- A mind that analyzes & seeks out opportunities to experiment with data continuously optimizing reporting to improve the way we understand our database.
- Exemplary organizational and prioritization skills – project oriented with an attention to detail.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; written, verbal, presentation.
- Able to understand, create, and manipulate XML, JSON, CSV and MS Excel files.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, namely an expert in Excel and PowerBI, including pivot tables, data tabulation, data visualization and dashboard creation.
- Experienced with a diverse marketing tech stack, including but not limited to: Eloqua, Marketo, Adestra, Salesforce CRM, PowerBI, Google Analytics, data repository, etc.
