Role: Batch Operator
Location: Little Rock, AR-Hybrid
Duration: One Year contract with possibility of extensions.
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Batch Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain batch operations in a shift-based environment while leveraging their expertise in Linux, SQL, and OpCon scheduling tools. Experience with Splunk and exposure to DevOps practices are highly desirable, making this role an exciting opportunity for professionals eager to enhance their technical skills and operational expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Batch Operations:
Monitor, manage, and execute batch jobs and workflows using OpCon or similar scheduling tools.
Troubleshoot batch job failures, ensuring timely resolution to maintain service levels.
Conduct routine health checks on batch processes, escalating issues as needed.
- Linux Administration:
Execute and debug shell scripts in Linux environments.
Perform basic Linux administration tasks to support operational workflows.
- SQL Development:
Develop and execute SQL queries for retrieving, analyzing, and updating data.
Monitor database-related jobs to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Incident Management:
Promptly identify, document, and resolve incidents during shift hours.
Conduct root cause analyses and document resolutions to improve processes.
- Operational Tools & Reporting:
Utilize Splunk or equivalent tools for log analysis and monitoring.
Generate and maintain operational reports and performance metrics for batch processes.
- DevOps Collaboration (Optional):
Contribute to the automation of batch processes via DevOps pipelines.
Work with development and DevOps teams to optimize workflow efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems, including shell scripting.
- Strong knowledge of SQL for querying and troubleshooting databases.
- Hands-on experience with OpCon or similar job scheduling tools.
- Basic understanding of incident and change management processes.
- Flexibility to work in a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with Splunk for log monitoring and analysis.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD, version control, and automation).
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and methodologies.
Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in batch operations, Linux administration, and SQL.
