Role: Business Analyst- W2 Only
Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: One Year with possibility of extensions
Scope of Work:
The System Business Analyst will play a crucial role in migrating agency financial and administrative systems to standardized platforms, upgrading aged components, and supporting modernization efforts. The position ensures system implementations align with strategic initiatives, federal/state compliance, and business continuity.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze current and future states of financial and administrative systems to define business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, system owners, and SMEs to gather and document requirements.
- Manage project documents, schedules, and progress reports.
- Create and maintain system protocols, dashboards, and reports using MS Excel and Power BI.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication, conduct gap analysis, and provide administrative support for project tasks.
- Ensure compliance with IT standards, security policies, and federal/state regulatory requirements.
- Support risk management, system validation, and production rollout to minimize service disruptions.
- Develop and update SharePoint content and system documentation.
- Assist in policy creation for cybersecurity and information risk management per industry standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master's in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong skills in business/system process analysis, IT best practices, and enterprise-grade technical solutions.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint), MS Office 365, and project methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical peers, users, vendors, and management.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with MS Project, MS DevOps, and security standards related to CDC, HIPAA, and CJIS.
- Knowledge of information security practices and data classification.
