Systems Engineer - PROTECT Modernization

Role: Systems Engineer

Location: Madison, WI

Candidate MUST be a WI resident. This position can work remote (within the state of WI) or in the office and may be asked to travel to the various DA offices to install equipment as needed.

Interview Process: Teams with camera on. 2nd and 3rd rounds if necessary.

Duration of the Contract: 6/30/2025 with extensions.

Project Details:

The Systems Engineer plays a key role in supporting and enhancing existing and emerging technologies (on-premises and cloud) that are designed to support and enhance the infrastructure and performance of our PROTECT Modernization project. This position will be part of a limited-term systems and services modernization effort as a member of the core team that includes other technical and developer team members

Top required skills:

At least 13 years of experience engineering on-premises and cloud environment, including migrations, configurations, security, deployments, and management.

Experience securing systems, networks and workflows requiring compliance based (such as CJIS) data security requirements.

Experience modernizing the network infrastructure of legacy systems.

Experience with networks, WAN / LAN connectivity, hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls), their configuration, maintenance, and lifecycles.

Nice to have skills:

Expertise in analyzing and repairing enterprise-level applications and services.

Experience establishing and maintaining information security policies and procedures.
