I. POSITION OBJECTIVES
1. Content Management and Transition
Collaborate with content managers to ensure a smooth transition of web content and functionality.
Maintain and update website content, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all related sites.
Administer and update the website’s content through Drupal CMS.
2. Website Migration and Performance
Assist in the planning and execution of multiple related website migrations for the Texas Education Agency's flagship website.
Ensure content is current, functional, accessible, and user-friendly.
Collaborate with the IT Web Services team to optimize website performance for speed, reliability, and scalability.
3. Technical Testing and Troubleshooting
Test code, designs, and content for validity and compatibility with browsers and devices.
Monitor and troubleshoot issues that arise during the migration process, providing timely resolutions.
Monitor website analytics and performance metrics.
4. Accessibility and Compliance
Ensure the website complies with WCAG 2.1 AA requirements and other relevant accessibility standards.
Collaborate with the IT Web Services team to address and resolve accessibility issues.
Provide accessibility assistance and support with remediation for presentations, documents, websites, forms, or other digital formats.
5. Communication and Coordination
Serve as the main point of contact between the Communications Division and the IT Web Services team.
Effectively translate technical requirements into functional communication strategies.
Provide support and guidance to content contributors across various offices and division departments to ensure consistent use of the CMS and adherence to web content standards and policies.
6. Design and Development
Prepare graphics, text, and tables; determine the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy.
Implement best practices for website performance, security, and SEO.
Maintain best practices for content creation, navigation, governance, and quality control.

7 Required - Web administration, web design with significant exposure to managing large-scale websites
7 Required - Proven experience with Drupal content management system (CMS), including content creation, taxonomy, nav
7 Required - Strong portfolio of complex web design, demonstrating a solid understanding of UI/UX design
7 Required - Ongoing operation, management, and maintenance of website content
7 Required - Experience and understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
7 Required - Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and website performance optimization techniques
7 Required - Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile-first strategies
7 Required - Ability to translate technical language into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders
