The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.Under the direction of the Deputy Chief Information Officer, the Associate Administrative Analyst will be assigned to the Chief Risk and Data Privacy Office (CRDPO) and will be a critical part of the Privacy Office Team tasked with implementing policies and procedures that enable consistent and effective information privacy practices. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Lead a team of privacy professionals in completing projects by a set deadline to uphold privacy program initiatives including developing a budget for different privacy project aspects and advocating for additional funding when necessary.• Implement staffing strategies in collaboration with the Chief Privacy Officer to hire privacy professionals or select project team members from existing departments and setting or adjusting project schedules to adhere to deadlines.• Support operationalization of the ITS privacy program, including compliance with applicable laws.• Work with leadership to ensure the privacy initiatives are planned, implemented, and executed in an efficient and effective manner.• Work with developers, designers, lawyers, policymakers, and others to help interdisciplinary teams build creative solutions to policy, legal, business, and other privacy challenges.• Assist with the development of and manage ITS’ privacy governance requirements, develop privacy risk measurement processes and standards, and monitor the organization’s compliance with applicable policies, standards, procedures and controls.• Prepare communication materials and progress tracking for privacy initiatives.• Create mechanisms for identifying and monitoring updates, milestones, and challenges in privacy work and ensuring leadership is aware of status.• Drive greater consistency of process, practices, and execution across ITS’ privacy initiatives.• Provide subject matter expertise on the review and revision processes of the ITS Privacy program.• Work with leadership to raise privacy awareness across the organization.• Work with leadership to develop and enforce information privacy policies, standards, procedures and controls to confirm compliance with applicable laws and regulations.• Align cross-functional privacy strategies to ensure success in operational execution.• Project-manage and prioritize work based on urgency and complexity while building cadences across teams to coordinate work.• Generate project-related documents including status reports, presentations, meeting agendas and long-term documentation.• Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.• Perform the full rand of supervisory responsibilities.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Associate Administrative Analyst, G-23 OR in a position at SG-21 or above deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.

Positions located in New York City, will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non- competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At this time, agencies may recruit and hire employees by making temporary appointments. In May 2024, if a temporary NY HELPS employee is satisfactorily performing in the position, the appointment will be changed from temporary pending Civil Service Commission Action to permanent non-competitive and the official probationary period will begin.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
