Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Project Manager to work for our company.
Summary:
- Client Agency is Customs and Border Patrol
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection suitability. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
- Must be willing and able to work on-site in Ashburn, VA.
- Will lead project planning, sprint/increment delivery, and contractor resource management for large-scale project.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality software and support services aligned with Agile best practices.
- Coordinate with COR and Government Task Manager to ensure performance within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Provide oversight of daily operations for development, operations & maintenance, security, and data management efforts.
- Facilitate resolution of issues, risk mitigation strategies, and escalation of project roadblocks.
- Support transition-in/transition-out activities including knowledge transfer, documentation, and team ramp-up/down.
- Monitor progress using Agile metrics (e.g., burn-down charts, velocity reports) and tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Ensure compliance with DHS/CBP policies including NIST SP 800-53, secure coding practices, and CI/CD best practices.
Requirements:
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection suitability. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies).
- Must have a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent.
- Must have an active CSM certification or other relevant Scrum certification recognized by a national authority.
- Must be willing and able to work on-site in Ashburn, VA.
- 8 years of IT project management experience.
- Must have previous experience overseeing Agile development lifecycles.
- Must have hands-on experience in Scrum environments.
- Must have previous experience with Jira.
- Must have hands-on experience with Microsoft Project.
- Previous experience managing large-scale projects with public-facing applications, complex data systems, and high compliance requirements.
- Previous experience leading multi-vendor or multi-team government software projects.
- Familiarity with modern technologies such as CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments (AWS), and containerization (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes).
- Oral presentation experience and excellent oral and written communication skills.
