Primary Purpose
Serve as a visionary technology leader who establishes and executes forward-thinking strategies that transform educational experiences through innovative digital solutions. Drive the strategic direction of the Technology Services Division by anticipating future technology needs, creating a compelling vision for technology integration, and aligning technology initiatives with the district's long-term goals. Lead with foresight to position the district at the forefront of educational technology, ensuring systems and infrastructure support next generation learning while enhancing operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of supervision/management experience in large organization
- Experience in technology field
- Experience managing leaders and implementing technology initiatives
Required Skills
- Ability to lead technology strategy, partnerships, and external relationships
- Allocate resources strategically maximizing return on technology investments while ensuring optimal productivity and operational efficiency
- Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity frameworks
- Understanding of educational technology and digital learning
Major Responsibilities
Leadership
- Develop and execute strategic technology roadmaps aligned with district goals
- Analyze complex district technology needs and implement innovative solutions
- Establish district standards for hardware, software, and network infrastructure
- Collaborate with curriculum leaders to integrate technology into instruction
- Stay current with legislative changes and ensure compliance with regulations
- Manage technology budgets, pursue alternative funding, and evaluate ROI
- Develop a long-range plan for USAC E-Rate reimbursements as applicable
Operations
- Implement comprehensive cybersecurity programs and incident response protocols
- Establish and maintain data governance frameworks ensuring privacy and quality
- Ensure streamlined technology support solutions with defined performance guarantee
- Implement disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Ensure equitable technology access and support across the district
Personnel
- Select, develop, and evaluate technology department staff
- Provide ongoing professional development and growth opportunities
- Build a collaborative team culture focused on service and innovation
- Develop succession plans for key technology positions
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration and communication
Technology Systems
- Oversee design and maintenance of district technology infrastructure
- Manage enterprise applications including student information systems
- Ensure system integration, reliability, scalability, and performance
- Evaluate emerging technologies to meet evolving district needs
- Implement blended learning environments and digital resources
- Plan for capacity needs and technology refresh cycles
