The Role

The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for performing the following tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor which may include mail sorting and palletizing, restocking supplies for Mail, Print and Envelope departments, shrink wrapping finished product and allocating, disposing of expired stock, dumping paper and cardboard recycle bins, making pick-ups and deliveries in company vehicles, shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished products. Operate heavy machinery and forklifts/delivery vehicles is required.

Hours: Monday- Friday 9:00am-5:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments of paper stock, envelopes, and other print/mail materials
• Organize and store materials in designated warehouse for easy retrieval
• Prepare, package, and palletize outgoing shipments following client and carrier specifications
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment
• Ensure proper labeling, tracking and documentation of materials and shipments
• Perform various job duties in a timely manner
• Clean warehouse to maintain a clean and safe workplace
• Participate in all company-wide improvements and initiatives
• Participate in and perform warehouse job duties and functions, as needed on a daily basis
• Assist in dropping -off/picking up inventory from third (3rd) party vendors
• Assist managing inventory levels to ensure the warehouse stock count is accurately reported
• Assist the Accounting Department with recyclable statements and file job tickets by dates
• Report any equipment that needs maintenance
• Follow OSHA/CalOSHA and company safety guidelines, including proper handling of heavy materials
• Follow all safety regulations and legal documentation norms pertaining to warehouse
• Follow instructions and complete all assigned tasks as delegated by the Manager or Supervisor
• Provide input and report any issues with forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks
• Provide feedback designed to improve safety, performance, and efficiency in the warehouse operations
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects for productivity improvement and cost reduction
• Work as a team player with other functional departments within the organization
• Provide support and training to new hire employees and for identifying areas for continuous improvement to develop an efficient warehouse environment
• Support production teams with material movement and workflow optimization
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 3 year of experience in a warehouse environment
• Forklift, Pallet Jack and Hand Truck experience required
• Must be able to lift products from 25-50 lbs. on a regular basis and perform physically demanding tasks
• Must have the ability to identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events
• Must wear steel toe shoes (foot protection)
• Ability to efficiently and effectively manage time and carry out orders
• Attendance at work is an essential function of this position. Must be dependable.
• Must be able to have a flexible schedule to provide backup coverage when short staffed on different shifts
• Must follow all company policies/guidelines and company initiatives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be computer literate and able to learn, understand and comprehend shipping/computer software
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated
• Knowledge of shipping procedures, including UPS, FedEx, and USPS requirements
• Must read/write/speak fluent English
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
• Must have valid driving license and clean driving record
