Pay Rate: $42 to $49/HR

Location: Lake Charles, LA
Shift: Day shift: 6:00 AM - 4:42 PM OR 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM - 02:42 AM
Note: Per Diem is only offered to those candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of the work location. $110 for lodging only and $51 for meals, etc. only
We are looking for Machinist
- Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
- Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications determines the sequence of operations, the number of cuts required, and the method of setup uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines the material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
- Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
- Candidates must be open to work any shift at the Lake Charles location, i.e. days, afternoons, or nights.
- Some weekend hours and overtime
- Day shift: 06:00-16:42 Or 2nd Shift:16:00-02:42, Could be either shift
