Job Description
Infosys is seeking a Infrastructure Engineer : This position's primary responsibility is to lead hands and feet support services for desktop and server environments in our data center. The role requires in-depth technical knowledge to ensure operational excellence and timely resolution of on-site issues.
Required Qualifications :
- Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Brentwood TN or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
- At least 4 years of Information Technology experience
- At least 6 years of experience in desktop and server support, preferably in a data center environment.
- Hands-on expertise in supporting physical and virtual server infrastructure.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting server hardware (Dell, HP, etc.) and desktop systems.
- Familiarity with networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Experience with cabling standards, rack management, and data center operations.
- Provide hands-on support for desktops, servers, and network devices within the data center.
- Oversee hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for servers and desktops.
- Manage physical cable patching, hardware replacements, and system upgrades.
- Perform routine server maintenance and health checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Respond to and resolve on-site hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with remote teams for system configuration, testing, and diagnostics.
- Maintain detailed documentation of physical assets, configurations, and repair activities.
- Ensure adherence to data center safety, security, and compliance protocols.
- Good knowledge on ITSM process
- Ability to work with OEM support team
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies.

Preferred Skills :
The job entails an extensive amount of travel. The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
