We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect with a strong background in rail transportation projects, particularly within the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) network. The ideal candidate will lead design efforts for transit stations, rail facilities, and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with MTA standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead architectural design and documentation for rail transportation projects, including stations, maintenance facilities, and intermodal hubs.
Coordinate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project concepts and ensure alignment with programmatic requirements.
Oversee project teams through all phases of design, from conceptual development to construction administration.
Ensure compliance with MTA design guidelines, ADA accessibility requirements, and building codes.
Collaborate with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate multidisciplinary solutions.
Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and construction submittals.
Mentor junior architects and support staff, providing guidance on transit design best practices.
Participate in project meetings and presentations with MTA representatives and other transit agencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
10 years of architectural experience, with a focus on rail and transit projects.
Licensed Architect in New York (or ability to obtain reciprocity).
Demonstrated experience working on transit projects, preferable with MTA agencies.
Strong understanding of transit infrastructure design standards and codes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with MTA C & D PRDCs and CAD/BIM standards.
Experience with design-build or alternative delivery methods.
