Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in laboratory techniques and a strong understanding of laboratory equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The primary responsibilities will involve performing daily verifications, preparing solutions, and conducting routine testing to ensure high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instrument Verification & Calibration: Perform daily verifications and calibration of laboratory instruments such as balances, pH meters, and viscometers according to work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Solution Preparation: Standardize volumetric and titrimetric solutions, prepare dissolution media, HPLC mobile phases, buffers, and other required solutions for testing and analysis.
- Testing & Analysis: Perform core laboratory techniques and methods for testing raw materials, in-process materials, product release, stability studies, and project work as assigned.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document experimental results and test data in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems. Ensure all data is clear, complete, and complies with regulatory and quality standards.
- Maintenance of Equipment & Inventory: Maintain proper working conditions of laboratory equipment, including routine cleaning and troubleshooting. Monitor and maintain the inventory of chemicals, reagents, and consumables.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols, good laboratory practices (GLP), and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EPA, etc.) to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with company standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Some laboratory experience or hands-on knowledge of laboratory equipment and techniques, including but not limited to balances, pH meters, and viscometers.
- Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of laboratory processes and quality control.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience with HPLC, titration, or other analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory software and data management systems.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
