Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine laboratory tasks such as instrument verifications, solution preparations, conducting tests on raw materials and finished products, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of laboratory equipment. The Lab Technician will contribute to the smooth operation of the lab by following standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining inventory, and ensuring proper disposal of laboratory waste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instrument Verifications: Perform daily verifications of laboratory instruments, including balances, pH meters, and viscometers, according to work instructions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Solution Preparation: Standardize volumetric/titrimetric solutions, prepare dissolution media, HPLC mobile phases, buffers, and other necessary solutions as required.
- Core Testing Techniques: Conduct assigned core testing techniques on raw materials, in-process samples, release samples, stability samples, and other project samples following established protocols.
- Lab Cleaning & Organization: Clean and prioritize the organization of all laboratory areas, including benches, sinks, drawers, cabinets, solvent cabinets, fume hoods, refrigerators, freezers, desiccators, and storage areas.
- Pipette and Glassware Maintenance: Ensure laboratory pipettes and glassware are properly cleaned and maintained for accurate use.
- Inventory Management: Perform monthly inventory checks for reference standards, reagents, and other laboratory materials.
- Instrument Maintenance: Maintain laboratory instruments by disposing of waste, cleaning equipment, and replacing consumable parts as necessary to ensure proper functionality.
- Waste Disposal: Dispose of solvent, acids, and other laboratory wastes in accordance with safety procedures and local regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Experience:
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a similar laboratory setting is preferred.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
