Core hrs 7 am- 3:30 Pm
MVR required Associates preferred, some auto experience/hands on work
We are currently looking for a Chassis Test Technician
The individual in this position will work directly with engineers to install and support testing of prototype/preproduction systems related to research and development.
Job functions Include but are not limited to:
- Setup test stands and fixtures to support chassis and suspension testing.
- Instrumentation of test components, strain gages, load cells, force gages, LVDT’s etc.
- Setup and perform chassis tests on prototype frames, bodies, and full vehicles.
- Removal and replacement of prototype vehicle components as required to conduct testing
- Support other testing groups as needed.
- Acquire data, provide preliminary review, and discuss with Engineering team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in automotive or technology related field preferred, Min 3-5 years related testing experience accepted.
- Automotive mechanical skills required and automotive testing experience
- Basic vehicle knowledge and chassis component testing experience
- Experience with servo hydraulic systems, load cells, strain gauges, LVDT
- Experience with HBM Somat, Catman – a plus
- Machine shop experience, welding, fabrication- a plus
- Excellent critical thinking, and communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks required
- Prefer associates degree or someone currently in school. Will take experience in lieu of
Chassis– mechanical skills, exposure to data acquisition, instrumentation, straingauges, computer skills (for data acquisition)
- They will get vehicles ready for testing, instrument, run tests, providedata to engineer Collect data, fill out data sheet, upload for engineer no heavy duty data processing
Precision drilling, fabrication, instrumenting of bolts, pieces, controlarms, precision machining. Skills needed for chassis area Opportunity to rotate into different areas in the test lab
