In this role, you will play an integral role on our Purchasing team supporting the purchasing programs we deliver to our members. You will have the opportunity to connect data and information as it flows through our business, from manufacturer, through distribution, to the retailer, and ultimately to the consumer. This is a position with an equal focus on human and data connection, where you’ll partner with all positions on our Purchasing team.
What you will own and improve:
Purchasing Program Support & Data Integrity:
- Support the category management team in executing INFRA Purchasing Programs, including contract processing, data collection, data entry, and ensuring data integrity.
- Process vendor contracts following program cadence, using contract management systems and databases.
- Maintain product descriptions within the contract management database for program materials.
- Proof and validate program materials for accuracy in product images, specifications, and pricing.
- Manage data updates and maintain data integrity for purchasing-related databases (CRM, Vendor Portal).
- Troubleshoot technical issues, questions and concerns with vendors related to Purchasing programs.
- Assist with program & system management, execution, process improvements, and special projects as needed.
Program data exchange with members, vendors, partners:
- Ensure smooth and accurate data workflow for INFRA Purchasing Programs.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in contracts and promotional data.
- Prepare pricing data for Category Managers to review.
- Communicate final deliverable confirmations to vendor and broker partners.
- Coordinate data verification with distribution partners and upload finalized data with technology partners for members.
Program Calendar Management & Communication:
- Maintain and oversee the INFRA Purchasing Programs operations calendars in partnership with INFRA staff.
- Provide program reporting assistance as needed.
- Balance efficiency with ideal outcomes, and always have a keen eye for opportunities to save time or enhance efficiency in calendar.
Purchasing Event Support:
- Support the Purchasing team in planning and executing promotional and buying events.
- Assist with INFRA’s hosted Tabletop buying event for members during the INFRA Annual Conference.
Continual Improvement
- Drive continual improvement. Partner with others to ensure efficient systems, methodologies, practices and workflows to create the best outcomes. Identify possible opportunities for new ideas or improvements.
- If they don’t already exist, partner to ideate or report on metrics and analysis of overall process and system performance.
- Partner to execute on changes to address user issues, roadblocks, outline resolutions, target transitions, and create future iteration goals.
What You Already Know:
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, category management, inventory, office administration, or similar roles.
- Experience in retail, grocery, or the natural foods industry preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to connect the dots.
- Ability to manage and effectively prioritize multiple projects and deadlines while consistently delivering high quality results.
- A lover of technology, including advanced skill in Microsoft Office suite and database management, particularly Excel. Exposure to PowerPoint preferred.
- Self-directed, success with taking initiative.
- Advocate for change and high value on continual improvement.
- Ability to establish great working relationships and communicate effectively with any audience, including confident communication and presentation skills.
- Enjoys proactively collaborating and providing great service to others.
Growth opportunities in this role:
- Purchasing, Promotions & Category Management: gaining exposure to purchasing team outcomes and providing a potential career path into Category Management, Program Management, Systems & Technology, Events & Education, or Promotions & Merchandising within 2-4 years.
- Data & Analytics: Involvement in calculating ROI, Lift, or other metrics that demonstrate success. Deeper involvement with how effective data, reporting, and events are used within INFRA and the larger grocery industry to support INFRA’s business model.
- Project Management: Involvement in or leadership on projects withing Purchasing team or across INFRA

Position details
Location: INFRA HQ at least 3 days/week (Currently Tue, Wed, Thur) Existing Internal remote candidates may apply but will require additional consideration.
Reporting: Reports to the Purchasing Operations Manager
Status:⯠Full-time exempt
Travel requirements: Travel up to 5% may be requested, though not required.
Salary info: PS1 $57,500-$72,000-$84,000
