The Controls Engineer should have strong expertise in designing, programming, and implementing control systems specifically for power distribution and switchgear applications.
Responsibilities
- Design control systems for low and medium voltage switchgear applications (ranging from 480V to 38kV).
- Review project specifications and conduct compliance takeoffs.
- Create electrical schematics, submittal packages, and sequence of operations documentation.
- Program and configure PLCs (Siemens & Fanuc) for automation control solutions.
- Develop SCADA and HMI interfaces using Siemens WinCC and Wonderware InTouch.
- Configure, program, and perform testing on protection relays, power meters, and circuit breakers.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, multifunction relays, HMIs, and protection equipment.
- Manage project timelines and ensure on-schedule delivery of assigned tasks.
- Skilled in designing and deploying switchgear control systems.
- Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens & Fanuc) and SCADA/HMI development.
- Well-versed in industrial communication protocols and networking.
- In-depth knowledge of protection relays, electrical schematics, and control networks.
