Basic Qualifications to Apply

· Live within a 25-mile radius of the City of Marlette or the Village of Port Austin.

· Strong mechanical aptitude

· Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes working overtime, holidays, and weekends, and being on-call 24 hours a day for emergencies on 3 week rotating basis.

· Must have reliable transportation

· Must possess and keep a valid driver’s license at all times to maintain employment.

· The ability to perform physical indoor and outdoor work under all weather conditions.

· Most positions also require a criminal background check and a clean history.

Preferred Qualifications

· Wastewater treatment experience or operator certification is strongly preferred.

· Water treatment experience or operator certification is strongly preferred.

This full-time position will cover facilities in and around the Marlette and Port Austin areas. Duties will include but are not limited to; sample collection and laboratory analysis, control of chemical, biological and mechanical processes, mechanical troubleshooting, and maintenance, tending and maintaining process equipment, maintaining records and reporting, general housekeeping, and grounds maintenance.

The qualified candidate will have a strong work ethic with experience and demonstrate the ability to work independently and interact effectively with co-workers, clients, and the public.
