Civil Engineer - Roadway Engineer

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer (Roadway Engineer), specifically with expertise in working with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and implementation of roadway projects, ensuring strict adherence to DOT regulations and standards.
- Technical proficiency and familiarity with DOT policies and procedures will be essential in delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable roadway solutions.
- This role entails active participation in diverse roadway design and transportation projects, including but not limited to data collection, alignment establishment, engineering calculations, and plan preparation.
Qualifications
- Proficient in reading and understanding surveys, drawings, and legal descriptions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Ability to efficiently complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, focusing on client service (internal and external).
- Highly motivated to learn and grow professionally in a supportive team environment.
- Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, project, and time management skills
- Experience with SC Department of Transportation (SCDOT) systems, policies, and procedures is preferred.
- Experience with Design-Bid-Build projects is a valuable asset.
- A valid Driver’s License is required with a safe driving record.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE with 5-7 years of engineering experience in transportation/design with strong technical skills in roadway design.
- Advanced proficiency with design-related software such as MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, Geopak, and Corridor Modeler, particularly Word and Excel, is required.
Physical Demands
This position predominantly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
Expected Hours of Work
The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule.
