As a Technical Services Specialist, You Will Be
- Essential to developing and the deployment of new products and services to the client.
- Working closely in the delivery of projects and service orders, interfacing with provisioning, field technicians, warehouse/logistics and client teams to build and deploy advanced solutions.
- Required to provide a detailed technical focus on deployment and activation of equipment to fulfill orders for new installations and added services. Attention is required to test and verify equipment is ready to go. This includes inspecting, testing, benchmarking, and validating performance standards.
- Assisting with the establishment and enhancement of test and certification process for our field operations team and build and test, provisioning and remote and onsite support of project installations.
- Working primarily in a shop/warehouse with occasional field work using the tools and test equipment to properly verify proper operation in accordance with the performance criteria of the manufacturer, as well as the quality standards of the company.
- Providing technical support for field operations and service management center personnel during site activation and commissioning procedures to overcome obstacles and technical challenges encountered during installations and break-fix dispatches.
Education/Training/Certifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior technical experience in networking and telecommunications and wireless solutions.
- Experience working 5 years in a field technician or technical support role.
- 2-year technical degree in electronics, engineering technology, networking, system engineering or similar.
- Successful training or certification in Cisco, Network , etc.
- Advanced training in networking, switching, routing or network technologies.
- Advanced/factory training in any of the systems being utilized.
- Advanced knowledge of network technologies and components such as switches, routers, and firewalls and RF technologies such as VSAT, LTE, wireless radios, Wi-Fi, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of the essentials of data and signal flow through a network, including the OSI Model.
- Skilled use of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services.
- Experience using telnet, RDP, traceroute, Ping and other network troubleshooting methods.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and adapt to changes quickly.
- Self -guided approach to learning and gaining knowledge in addition to company provided training.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced, team-based environment.
This role requires moderate stamina to perform the essential job functions.
- The employee must be able to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally for short durations.
- The employee must be able to carry up to 15 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally for short distances.
- The employee must be able to push/pull up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, usually from desk level to floor or floor to desk level.
