Infrastructure Technologies, LLC is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team. As a member of our organization, you will have the opportunity to contribute to deployment of a safe and reliable transit system. In this role, you will provide owner oversight of the testing and commissioning of the traction power substations and overhead catenary system. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, high levels of discretion, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The position will be required to be full time in the project office in Riverdale, MD. Must be flexible in working hours and available to work at night or during weekends as needed to oversee testing.

Project Overview :

The Purple Line is a 16-mile light rail line that will extend from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George's County. It will provide a direct connection to the Metrorail Red, Green and Orange Lines, at Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park, and New Carrollton. The Purple Line will also connect to MARC, Amtrak, and local bus services. The Purple Line is owned by the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA). In spring of 2016, MDOT MTA selected a private-sector partner, Purple Line Transit Partners (PLTP) to design, build, operate, and maintain the light rail system for 35 years.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review and approve traction power substation, catenary, and integration test procedures.
  • Oversee execution of on-site traction power substation, catenary, and integration testing.
  • Review and approve traction power substation, catenary, and integration test reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to traction power system testing and commissioning and systems integration.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of traction power testing and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in railway DC traction power system engineering, verification & validation, testing & commissioning, or maintenance.
  • Experience in overhead catenary systems is a plus.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex issues involving internal and external interfacing systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications or tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks or responsibilities.
