The Directional Drill Foreman oversees the HDD crew, managing the field operations with a focus on safety compliance, efficiency, cost management and innovation. Manages construction activities to ensure company procedures are followed and compliance is maintained relative to all applicable local, state and federal requirements.
Essential Duties:
Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground.
Supervise the daily operations in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements while continually monitoring site for changing safety conditions and related issues.
HDD Operating HDD Locating.
Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
Understands proper use of company radio.
Understands operation of heavy equipment.
Understand the proper use and maintenance of hand tools.
Responsible for completing required paperwork on a daily basis.
Train crew members in accordance with company safety policies.
Capable of receiving and following directions. Capable of learning basic knowledge of materials used. Possess a basic knowledge of materials used.
Understands the concepts of equipment set up and grounding.
Capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces.
Understands minimum approach distance.
Capable of checking voltage on transformers.
Understands flag and tag procedures.
Understands when to wear personnel protective equipment.
Able to identify different types of materials used.
Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Education Preferred: High school diploma
Experience Preferred: Knowledge of Horizontal Directional Drilling techniques and standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Valid (CDL) commercial driver's license.
3 years HDD Operating HDD Locating.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to perform the essential duties.
Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work overtime.
Ability and willingness to travel.
