Key Responsibilities
- Assist in configuring, managing, and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls and other network security devices within the company s energy infrastructure.
- Perform routine monitoring of network traffic, security logs, and incident response to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Help implement network security policies to safeguard the organization s IT assets and sensitive energy-related data.
- Assist in the troubleshooting of network security issues, including firewall, VPN, and network-related problems, and ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with the network security team to apply updates, patches, and best practices to maintain a secure network environment.
- Help configure and support VPNs and secure remote access for authorized users in the energy sector.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network security configurations, incidents, and policy changes.
- Participate in security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal security standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Provide timely support for security incidents, working to resolve network security issues quickly and efficiently.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging threats and industry trends, particularly in the context of the energy sector.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Some experience in network administration, with a focus on network security, particularly in an industrial or critical infrastructure context.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls or similar firewall technologies.
- Understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, etc.).
- Familiarity with network security practices such as VPNs, firewalls, intrusion detection, and access controls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve network security issues effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or CompTIA Security .
- Familiarity with energy industry security standards and compliance requirements.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and security incident management systems.
- Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline network security tasks.
