IT Infrastructure And Network Specialist Key Responsibilities
- Network Administration: Oversee and manage on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid network systems, prioritizing performance and security.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain detailed documentation of technical solutions, configurations, and resolutions to facilitate knowledge transfer and continuity.
- IT Solution Evaluation and Recommendation: Evaluate and propose IT solutions through vendor consultations, aligning recommendations with organizational objectives.
- RFP Development: Contribute to the development of technical RFPs to support strategic initiatives.
- User Account Management: Manage user accounts across Active Directory and Microsoft 365 platforms, providing technical assistance as needed.
- Security and Compliance: Conduct vulnerability assessments, apply updates and patches, and safeguard sensitive information by adhering to strict confidentiality standards.
- Network Security Policy Development: Develop and refine network security policies in compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
- VOIP System Management: Oversee the performance and user experience of the RingCentral VOIP system.
- Third-Party Coordination: Coordinate with third-party providers for NOC and SOC tasks, including vulnerability remediation.
- VOIP System Migration: Lead the transition from a legacy VOIP system to a Teams-based calling solution, ensuring a seamless migration.
- Technology Integration and Training: Collaborate with academic teams to incorporate technology into teaching environments, fostering adoption among faculty and students. Deliver training sessions on technology usage and cybersecurity best practices.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by IT leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, and Office 365.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols (SSL, SMTP, SSH, DNS, DHCP, SFTP) and enterprise cybersecurity measures.
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems, server virtualization, and network-attached storage (NAS).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in complex IT environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with IT monitoring tools and basic database administration.
- Understanding of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
- Experience with VOIP systems, particularly RingCentral and Teams migrations.
