Role and Responsibilities :
As a PEGA author you will be responsible for the development and implementation of applications using the PEGA platform (a popular Business Process Management (BPM) and Case Management software). This role is typically responsible for configuring, customizing, and optimizing PEGA application, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
Your primary responsibilities include :
Requirements Gathering and Analysis
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements
- Translate business needs into technical solutions by designing PEGA application workflows and processes
- Document functional and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives
Design and Development
Maintain Net New / Backlog treatments Master spreadsheetCoordinate with channel managers to prioritize Net New Vs. Backlog treatmentsBuild and configure case types, flow rules, decision rules, and other PEGA rules to meet business requirementsCreate User Interfaces (UI) using PEGA's dynamic layout, harness, and section rules for a smooth user experienceWrite custom functions and scripts when necessary (using Java or PEGA expressions) for complex requirementsTesting and Debugging
Perform unit testing to ensure individual components are functioning as expectedTroubleshoot and debug issues within the PEGA application, ensuring high-quality outputDocument and resolve defects and provide fixes based on testing feedbackDeployment and Release Managemen t
Deploy treatments and configurations to various environments (Development, QA, UAT, Production) using PEGA Deployment Manager or through manual export / import methods.Ensure smooth migration of application changes from one environment to the next (version control and release management)Monitor the deployment process to ensure proper functionality post-deploymentClient and Stakeholder Management
Manage client expectations and provide technical updates and progress reports to business stakeholdersAssist junior / senior in activities if needed, by providing technical solutions, estimations, and demonstrations of PEGA capabilitiesRequired Professional and Technical Expertise
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field2-5 years of relevant work experience in PEGA development, with exposure to design, development, and implementation of PEGA applicationsCertification in PEGASQL, Schema, MS Office, and Java knowledge for custom functionsPreferred Professional and Technical Expertise
Prior experience in PEGA-specific tools and components, such as Pega Decisioning, Pega CRM, Pega Case Management, and Pega RoboticsData engineering SkillsAbility to think on feet, multi-task, prioritize and work under pressureResponsible, with a positive attitude and ability to work well with a team
