The Account Director will lead our Multicultural Direct Marketing work for the agency's largest telecom / mobile Client and be responsible for driving results, day-to-day mgmt. and creative deployment of all drops. Focus is on Hispanic with support for African American and Asian work across acquisition / upgrade Direct mail, emails, print, and customer comms.

An unflappable confident leader to manage a complex workflow and optimize marketing from strategy, briefs and creative through versioning QC / delivery and improve / streamline processes. They develop presentations with business acumen and cultural relevance, present solutions internally and to the client, apply lessons learned to ensure long-term success - and inspire others to do the same. Being both a team player and self-starter are required. Equally comfortable in a lean entrepreneurial agency and client corporate environment. We are looking for the right fit, so the level can vary. This is not a 9 to 5 job, but definitely flexible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands the client's business, industry, competitors, products, and promotions
  • Delivers best-in-class DM strategies and creative, providing critical insights, best practices and direction pre creative development and post uploads to internal teams and clients
  • Has mastered the Account Director core competencies and has a keen ability to lead direct marketing efforts in a data centric manner and manage clients' multiple projects.
  • Serves as a key Client / agency liaison, builds relationship and trust as an advisor, strategic leader, and day-to-day manager to client(s) at the VP, Sr. Director and manager levels.
  • Requires strong strategic leadership, diverse ethnic consumer segment knowledge and insights, analytical acumen, executional proficiency, and high attention to detail
  • Directly execute alternating DM drops, plus leads and stewards internal agency team
  • Manage and mentor account / project managers, guide the creative team and design studio, and develop strong relationships with our clients' GM agencies and print vendors
  • Collaborate and exchange intel / best practices with Agency Mgmt & TV / Digital team
  • Leads the tactical execution of all Acquisition / Upgrade Direct Mail, email and projects to meet strategic and business goals, including timely Client feedback throughout the process, and firm Client mgmt. to avoid last minute changes which risk quality control and accuracy.
  • Works with the main LA office to assure timely development and completion of all direct marketing creative assets, oversees workflow and integration with client partners
  • Ensures that all Client requests are properly funneled into the PM workflow system
  • Analyzes / summarize results, provides strategic, messaging, offer, creative recommendations and drafts creative briefs, work statements
  • Meets with clients consistently and manages conf calls to control projects, with bi-monthly roll-up agency / client meetings to discuss business performance, strategy, and reporting.
  • Ensures timely and accurate Client conference reports, client Hot Sheet status reports, DM codes and creative assets with Project Management and account executives
  • Presents new ideas / opportunities in order to grow the client's business and challenges the status quo with alternate approaches for effective strategies and advertising
  • Provides high level overview of direct marketing landscape and marketing results, delivering wider group product and value suite to the senior client for engagement
  • Tracks DM SOW budgets, ensures growth and profitability, and keeps agency leadership apprised of key opportunities, risks and nuances which affect the health of the business.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS / BA degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of direct marketing business leadership and Multicultural experience
  • Telecom / Mobile Services industry experience extremely desired
  • Fluent in Spanish (Read, Write, Speak)
  • Strong strategic, mgmt., organization, listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient with AI / ML tools, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams, and Project Mgmt. systems (Net Suite, Ziflow, Asana or equivalent)
  • Solid project management capabilities and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with initiative, able to communicate complex DM solutions clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated capability and flexibility in problem solving, managing and mentoring
  • Positive attitude and sound work ethic to lead and work effectively in a team environment
  • Sets and manages multiple project deliverables, account profitability and client satisfaction
