Job Description
With more than 11,000 employees, HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and a major contributor to the economic growth of Alabama. For nearly 85 years, we’ve designed, built and maintained amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. Project Management responsibility and material support to Planning Yard Services (PYS) contracts. Works with PYS Engineering to identify material requirements supporting planned Ship Alteration installations. Works with Class Platform managers, Supply Chain Management, Estimating and Pricing and Contracts to obtain the funding for the procurement of material. Works with warehousing to receive, kit and ship material to support Availabilities. Provides daily management and statusing of assigned programs. Serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team(including the customer), and line management.
Reviews and presents status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet schedule, quality, cost and Customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
Monitors project progress and intervenes and problem solves with various HII disciplines, project managers, line managers and the Customer when material issues arise.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant business or technical discipline 3 years' experience OR a combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Post Delivery Support or Supply Chain experience. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access required. Proficient in other Microsoft Office Suite programs (i.e. PowerPoint, Word), ARAS and IFS. Strong analytical skills with the ability to plan and effectively manage work. Understanding and/or exposure to post-delivery processes, SCM/Material management, or Change Management. Ability to logically express ideas in oral and written formats. Able to work within team environment as well as independently and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
