Job Title : Middle School Single Subject Social Science Teacher Schedule : 40 hrs / week min.
Job Type : Full-Time FLSA Status : Exempt
Reports to : Principal Pay : $62,235, starting (DOE), Salary Scale
Special : Requires weekend work, nights
and early mornings, as needed.

- Attend mandatory trainings, professional meetings, and educational conferences, as required
CLASSROOM CULTURE
Build relationships with all students that demonstrate mutual respect and compassionEncourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, measuring progress through individual and class goal settingInvolve students in the process of the classroom including : creating a class Code of Cooperation, creating classroom procedures, and conflict resolution strategiesCreate a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment conducive to learning and based on student interests and goalsIncorporate restorative justice and PBIS practices and implement social emotional learning curriculumImplement and support school / organizational policies governing student life and conductUtilize educational technology including GoogleApps for Education to enhance learning experiencesACADEMIC
Design, implement, and monitor the learning experiences of each student.Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods : lecture, discussion, demonstration, small group, student-led instruction, etc.Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students differing needs and interestsPrepare and implement intervention programs for students requiring extra helpIn harmony with curriculum and in connection with Common Core State Standards, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students dailyPrepare materials and classroom for class activitiesPlan and supervise class projects, field trips, and guide students in learning activitiesDATA DRIVEN
Consistently and accurately observe and assess students academic performance, behavior, social development, and physical health, both formally and informally, through observation, formative assessment, and written evaluationProvide frequent and timely feedback to students and parents on student progressRecommend resources to parents for additional student growthTimely deliver accurate and complete written and oral progress reportsMaintain accurate and complete student records as required by law and Ingenium Schools policiesMaintain individual and class goal folders to set learning goals and action plans and track learning processMaintain student confidentialityCOLLABORATION
Confer with students and parents outside of the instructional day to resolve students behavioral and / or academic issues, as neededMaintain and improve professional competence and participate in professional development opportunitiesActively participate in team meetings (grade level, special education, department, etc.) and serve on staff committees, school-wide events, parent workshops, and community partnership eventsAssist with school / organizational events, general supervision, extra-curricular support, tutoring, etc., as neededActively participate in student recruitment, including but not limited to : attending recruitment events, student orientations, and community events to represent the school and inform the community of Ingenium SchoolsAssists with distribution of marketing materials in the community, as neededPerform related duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Bachelors DegreeREQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES :
Valid California single subject english credential or permit authorizing instruction in Social Studies in intermediate classrooms (grades 6-8)English Language Learner AuthorizationCPR / First Aid (provided by Ingenium post-hire)WORKING CONDITIONS
