GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Ingersoll’s US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for a Graphic Designer.
About the role: As a member of the Marketing Communications team, graphic designers contribute to the overall brand identity and marketing experiences as they relate to Ingersoll’s audience. This team is responsible for branding consistency via effective designs that communicate in ways that inform and inspire consumers to experience Ingersoll’s wide selection of premium cutting tool solutions. Essential job duties and responsibilities include:
- Interpreting and enhancing the visual aesthetics of tool (CAD) blueprints/drawings with Adobe Illustrator.
- Creating a variety of print publications, including flyers, posters, forms, brochures, catalogs, advertisements, and more.
- Creating artwork for giveaway items and apparel.
- Interfacing with all levels of Management, Engineering, and Product Management.
- Receiving initial direction from Marketing Communications Manager on assigned projects and collaborating with Communications team as needed.
- Planning design concepts by studying industry information and materials as well as working with marketing management.
- Illustrating problem-solving skills by producing rough layout(s) of design and copy working together in harmony by way of brand guidelines, thoughtful layout, appropriate graphic element sizing, type size/style, color selection, and other foundational concepts.
- Submitting rough layout(s) for review and incorporating changes per Marketing Communications Manager, Product Management, and Executive Management.
- Preparing finished/approved project files that fulfill exporting or printing needs.
- Occasionally coordinating print projects with printer vendors, outside agencies, art services, etc.
- Obtaining product knowledge by attending in-house product seminars.
- Other department-related tasks as assigned.
Skills/qualifications:
- Associate degree (2 years) or bachelor’s degree (4 years) in graphic design, industrial design, or related fields is required.
- 1-3 years of experience with key Adobe Creative Cloud software (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop).
- Candidates with a high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator are preferred.
- Candidates with CAD software and/or 3-D modeling experience will receive additional consideration.
- Strong page layout and typographic skills are essential.

- Acute vision and keen eye for aesthetics and details.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must be receptive to constructive criticism.
Portfolio review: Be prepared to present your portfolio of previous work (10-15 pieces) in your medium of choice – physical portfolio, PDF, visual presentation, etc. Ensure the work you select displays a variety of disciplines utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud software.
This is a full-time position that may require intermittent overtime based on workflow demands (including potential for long shifts and/or weekend work).
The salary range for this position is $50K-60K.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
