We are looking for a skilled assembler/material handler to perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product while also ensuring materials are supplied as needed. You are responsible for keeping workstations fully stocked with materials, ultimately contributing to higher overall productivity of other workers, ensure all parts fit correctly, and are suitable for the final product. This position is responsible for safely performing high-level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands.
You must have desired technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to interpret instructions represented in manuals, drawings, work orders etc. and follow them with precision.

Responsibilities:
- Receives, ships, loads, and unloads materials/parts from suppliers or carriers. Material may be unloaded from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, with forklift, or other material handling device. Visually inspects incoming pieces/parts for compliance and obvious damage; informing Quality if necessary.
- Moves material/parts from warehouse or receiving area, to designated line or stock locations. (Ex: to proper stock location, to inspection area, to machine cell) while using barcode scanner and/or computers. Moving stock to release, consolidate, or change part locations.
- Uses computer and/or barcode scanner to properly identify stock locations to retrieve parts. Operates forklift, hand truck, and/or other material handling equipment to assist in loading or moving any material.
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to determine materials to be transferred; informs inventory control to update computer system when necessary (Ex: quantity mismatch, mixed parts, wrong labels)
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials received, moved, or shipped and reports inconsistencies to inventory control.
- Receives work orders from planners; picks parts to jobs for machine shop, assembly areas, staging for kits, and spare part sales orders using barcode scanner and/or computer.
- Follows all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment. Remove any debris found on shelves throughout the warehouse.
- Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 1 (one) or more years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution industry.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds occasionally. Crane or other assistance to be used on objects over 40 pounds.
- Standing: Standing is required in periods of up to three hours at a time.
- Stooping: Would be required to lift objects off pallets.
- Hand Dexterity: Must be able to work with hand tools, power tools as well as operating buttons on controls.
Core Competencies:
- Team oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with others.
- Knowledge of and willingness to comply with all general work rules, policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to learn to operate all equipment associated with the job; including, but not limited to, power hand tools, forklifts, cranes, and measuring devices.
- Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Preferences:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to use equipment and maintain general understanding of business process.
- Familiar with and can utilize power tools.
- Knowledgeable of and able to utilize computer systems.
- Ability to pass certification for Powered Industrial Vehicle license.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
- This position will be based 100% onsite at our Southern Pines, North Carolina facility.
