The Operations and Maintenance Coordinator manages a team of area operators, acts as production coordinator for the operations group, follows up on operator concerns, and ensures development and adherence to the production plan. Responsibilities include coordination with the area maintenance coordinator on scheduling / executing repairs, review of daily operating priorities with operators, providing performance feedback to area operators, and monitoring the process daily for proper operation. These responsibilities include all safety and environmental issues, process reliability and run time, product quality, process improvements, process / equipment troubleshooting, cost control, training, and new product development support.
- Supervise the area operators by ensuring they have the necessary tools to perform their jobs, communicate properly to all necessary personnel, and are held accountable for their performance.
- Ensure the plant has set production plans for at least a week out and that the operations group (engineers, coordinators, and operators) are following this plan.
- If the production plan has not been met, the Production Supervisor must ensure the deviation is investigated and a new production plan is set.
- Work with area coordinators and area engineers to develop training packages and conduct operator training on existing, new, and modified plant equipment and processes.
- If an issue arises in the plant, the Area Operations Supervisor must lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
- Act as backup to Production Manager as needed.
- Act as backup to Production Engineers when needed.
- Assist with outage planning and executing as needed. This could include ensuring the scope of work is set in time to allow proper planning, ensuring appropriate manpower (maintenance and / or contractors) is secured, ensuring isolations and line breaks are planned ahead of time, ensuring confined space coverage is planned
