MARKETING INTERNSHIP – Lake Lansing County Park - South, Haslett, MI
Starting Wage: $18.00 / hour
Position Summary
Work with management team to brainstorm and implement ideas for new and innovative marketing and social media campaigns to increase community involvement, awareness, and attendance at the Community Band Shell and other County Park locations’ activities and Special Events.
Schedules and Length of Employment
Schedules can vary from part-time with a minimum of 15 hours per week up to 40 or more hours per week. Internship is maximum of 6 months unless educational requirements dictate more. Position does not need to be school credit oriented. Must be able to work flexible hours. Must be able to work on short notice from time to time.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Responsible for Band Shell marketing and outreach - including corresponding with performers, connecting with sponsors, and advertising upcoming concerts and Park events.
- Recommends fundraising and marketing strategies to Park Staff and develops materials used to support potential donors.
- Assist with researching, organizing, and conducting Special Events.
- Collect and present marketing data.
- Assist with social media engagement.
Qualifications:
- Background or Interest in Marketing/Advertising/Graphic Design/ or Business Management.
- Knowledge and experience with mainstream social media platforms.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Applicants must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and dependable transportation.
Employees must be physically able to walk various types of terrain, handle exposure to all types of weather, walk and stand for long periods, and communicate clearly and effectively with the public.
