About The Role
Under the supervision of the administrator, collaboratively provides instructional leadership to assigned staff in the provision of appropriate education for students with disabilities up to age 26, who have special needs.
- Shares responsibility for the daily operation of North Star School, Ingham Academy, and Malcolm Williams to educate students with disabilities up to age 26, who have special needs.
- Reviews individual student records to determine eligibility and placement for Center programs in collaboration with local school districts.
- Confers with instructional staff and parents on matters pertaining to educational and behavioral issues/concerns in school, which includes goals and objectives for individual students.
About You
Master’s degree or equivalent with approval as a Supervisor of Special Education or willingness to enroll in a program leading to approval.
- Full approval or an endorsement in at least one area of special education is required.
- Possess current Michigan Administrator Certification or be enrolled in a program leading to certification as a school administrator not later than six months after date of employment, with three years to meet the certification requirements.
