REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous food service experience, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of food preparation methods, portion control, proper food handling and storage, inventory control and food ordering.
- Knowledge and experience in cash handling, cashiering. Good math and accounting skills.
- Knowledge of food safety laws and regulations.
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a school setting.
- Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an appropriate and respectful manner.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work for improvement.
- Ability to follow the requirements of school food service.
- Valid ServSafe Certification
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES::
- Serve meals to students in a friendly and pleasant manner.
- Assist in preparation and stocking of food and service of school lunch.
- Maintain high sanitary and safety standards in the kitchen and storage areas.
- Accurate cash handling and accounting for daily sales, including performing cashier duties.
- Perform dishwasher duties. Properly clean pots, pans, utensils, and equipment daily.
- Receive and handle food and kitchen items as needed.
- Work with the Director of Food and Nutrition Services toward effective and efficient food service operation.
- Perform duties at different sites in the district as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT: 4 hours per day as needed (Follows school schedule)
