Ingleside Communities is seeking to hire a full-time Interim Director of Nursing (DON) to join our dynamic team!Job Summary : The Interim Director of Nursing is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, analyzing, and evaluating the nursing services of the department, as well as supervising members of the nurse management team and others as assigned, in order to provide effective nursing services that meet practice and quality standards. We are looking for positive, collaborative team members who show leadership, are respectful, and overflow with integrity, care, and hard work.DON Responsibilities : Supervise all levels of nursing personnel and direct resident careRecruit, interview, hire, evaluate, discipline, and terminate nursing personnelAssist in orientation and training of all nursing personnelOversee scheduling of all nursing personnel to ensure appropriate staff coverage to meet State and Federal standardsSchedule and direct regular meetings for professional nurses and nursing assistants per competenciesEvaluate and enforce proper infection control techniquesAttend and contribute to Care Plans as needed, attend QAPI meetingsRepresent facility and nursing service at professional organizationsEvaluate placement of all new residents to the facilityTake responsibility for the facility in the absence of the AdministratorContinually seek methods to upgrade and improve delivery of care to the residentsBe subject to call, and carry cellphone, on an as-needed basisAny and all other duties assigned by Administrator for the purpose of quality resident care.Clinical : Provide administrative and clinical leadership for nursing staff to promote the delivery of quality care. Maintain knowledge base of current standards of nursing practice. Develop and revise nursing policies and procedures.Financial : Develop, revise, monitor, and implement the nursing department budget to promote appropriate utilization of resources. Oversee and adjust the staffing hours based on acuity, census, and established staffing patterns. Approve staff timecards.Staff Development : Collaborate with staff development and ensure that a staff development program is in place to meet regulatory clinical and staff needs.Quality Improvement : Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement. Develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing department quality assurance program. This includes patient, family, and staff satisfaction; safety and risk management; and strategic planning.Regulatory : Develop and maintain policies and procedures to promote compliance with all state and federal regulations and nursing standards.
