Ingleside Communities is seeking compassionate Med Techs to join our team. As a Med Tech, you will be responsible for administering medications to our residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will also provide support with resident care, ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality of service. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications, including oral, nasal, transdermal, rectal, ophthalmic, and inhalants, following safety and pharmacological guidelines.
- Perform blood glucose monitoring (Accu-check) and take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse) as necessary.
- Provide basic wound treatments and ensure proper infection control protocols are followed.
- Work as part of the nursing team, reporting resident changes in condition, safety concerns, or maintenance needs.
- Comply with all safety, infection control, and hazardous materials policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as needed, including assisting with admissions, cleaning med carts, and performing room audits.
- Ensure medications are stocked, restocked, and checked for expired medications daily.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of the State of Wisconsin Medication Assistant Training Program or an approved pharmacology course.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Wisconsin in good standing.
- Must adhere to all safety, infection control, and security policies.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Previous experience working with elderly residents, especially those with emotional or cognitive challenges, is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Possible exposure to infections, odors, and physical risks from residents.
- May be required to perform tasks involving blood, body fluids, or mucous membranes.
